Private Residence of Mr. Sujith Fernando located at Jothirathana Mawatha, Walapola ,Panadura was attacked on 13th May 2008 by an unidentified gang. He is the Coordinating Secretary of Kalutara district MP Nandana Gunathilaka - the General Secretary of newly formed National Freedom party.
Mr.Fernando has lodged a complaint at Panadura Police Station in this regard and no arrests have been made yet.
Meanwhile, at Rajagiriya the private residence of Mr.Dimuthu Sampath Ketapearachchci- a former JVP full-timer and now serving as the Media Secretary to the Ministry of Textile Industries too was attacked by a gang today and several files relating to Textile ministry were removed by force.
While making a statement Mr.Ketapearachchi said he has criticized JVP activities long before and left the party thereafter. Further he said he has expressed his own views in favour of NFF recently and this attack may have been a result of it.
